Pat Kozowyk studied art and art history at McMaster University, graduating in 1977.

Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in public art galleries and artist run centres in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick. Her work has also traveled to Manitoba, New York State, Scotland, and Japan. In 1994 she took part in an artists' exchange and exhibition in Arica Chile, with Chilean artist Cesar Levia.

Pat's two dimensional and installation work has consistently explored a connection with the natural environment, especially trees.

One of Pat's pastels, "Maple" is in the collection of the Art Gallery of Hamilton. Her "Winter Woods" pastel is included in the 2000 edition of the Prentice Hall literature school text "Sightlines 10" surrounded by Tom Dawe's poignant poem "In There Somewhere".

Pat has curated the works of other artists for the Hamilton Artists' Inc. and the Carnegie Gallery in Dundas. She also curated a traveling exhibition featuring acclaimed Canadian artist Shelley Niro and Chilean artist Edith Soza for the Burlington Art Centre.

Her teaching experience includes classes for adults and children at the Hamilton Conservatory of the Arts, Burlington Art Centre, Dundas Valley School of Art and Mohawk College. She has conducted workshops in several public galleries in Ontario, as well as workshops for art teachers in the Lambton Country Board of Education. Pat has also taught privately for home school groups and adults at her organic Flamborough farm.

Pat has received Ontario Arts Council Artists in Education grants for 2006 to 2009. Her project is titled: "Exploring and Drawing the Natural Environment" for children from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. This grant encourages the participation of professional artists (all media) in Ontario schools.

Other awards include two project grants from the Canada Council (1989)and Ontario Arts Council (1986).

In 1994, Pat Kozowyk and Catharine Gibbon shared Hamilton's Woman of the Year in the Arts Award for their roles within an outstanding group of volunteers of the art and environment project: "On the Edge".
